  • Schedule your weekly meal pickup
    Enrolled TUVA households can begin registering for weekly meal pickup, on 7-21. Program starts August 4th. 

    TUVA students will be able to get breakfast and lunches from their home school cafeteria. The cafeteria knows that TUVA students may not have the same lunch time as other home school students and they will accommodate as needed. More Information

Your child's Student ID is sometimes called their "matric" number.

If you have a ParentVUE account, you can find your their Student ID (or matric number) in ParentVUE.

Non-TUSD Devices on Campus: Log On to TUSD-WiFi

Students who bring their own non-TUSD devices from home when they return to their school for in-person learning need to connect to the TUSD-WiFi network. Or if unable to connect to TUSD-WiFi network, they can try connecting to the TUSD-Guest network. Please see the illustrated instructions below:

Use this free WiFi map from Connect Arizona to find free public WiFi hotspots at public libraries, schools, businesses, and other sites. Some sites may offer indoor public access during business hours, others provide access in the parking lot only. Everyone using the sites - outside or inside - is encouraged to practice social distancing precautions, including staying in your vehicle or at least six feet from other users and wearing a mask if necessary.


Frequently Asked Questions about the Tucson Unified Virtual Academy K-12 program (TUVA).

What is TUVA?

Tucson Unified Virtual Academy is a new TUSD SY2021-22 program supporting students in Kindergarten through 12th grade that prefer a remote learning environment but want strong teacher interaction.

What grades can attend?

Kindergarten-5th grade

will experience real-time, direct teaching Monday-Friday just like being in-person. They will have a teacher and class for the year, will follow an academic instructional schedule, and will have online support tools to enhance their learning.

6-12th grade

students will have a certified subject teacher who will support each student using Apex Learning for coursework. These students will follow an academic instructional schedule Monday-Friday; classes are not self-paced. Students will have support staff and counselors to provide guidance and answer questions.

When does TUVA start?

We start August 5th for the 2021-2022 school year and follow the district calendar.

Are computers provided?

All technology devices and software are free and provided by Tucson Unified School District.

Where are they enrolled?

TUVA is a TUSD program.  Thus, each student remains enrolled at the TUSD school they registered for in ParentVUE.

Are clubs & sports available?

Yes, the TUVA students can participate in the after school programs at the school in which they are enrolled.

Is school every day?

Yes, in order to receive the educational skills needed and meet the Arizona Department of Education attendance hours, students must attend their scheduled TUVA instructional classes every regular school day (Monday – Friday).

Are there fees?

No fees are required. This is a program within Tucson Unified School District, which is a public school district.

Can we change to in-person?

Yes, Students can move back to in-person learning at the school they are enrolled. 

For this year, The student can switch back to in-person learning at the 1st quarter Progress report date (September 1-3, 2021) , or at the end of each quarter thereafter.

How do I register for TUVA?

To register, log into your ParentVUE

account, select Online Registration (OLR), choose your school and then select “remote learning” for your child along with the grade they start in August. See the detailed instruction under “How do I register for Remote Learning" on the About Tucson Unified Virtual Academy.
